Ladies Loving Nashville

Ladies Loving Nashville
What happens when you bring several churches in the same city together in unity, to reach the less fortunate and meet their needs?  A women’s conference like no other!  The Sophia’s Heart staff had a great time getting involved with “Ladies Loving Nashville” at The Fellowship at Two Rivers, for the second year in a row!  Sophia’s Heart loves “Ladies Loving Nashville!”

Fit For the Heart Bootcamp

Residents at Sophia’s Heart are getting physically fit as they move forward in their personal development.  Fitness expert Ambrose Leburu hosted a special “Fit for the Heart Bootcamp” at Sophia’s Heart to help raise funds and awareness about the program.  The “Fit for the Heart Bootcamp” team brought master trainers along with their master music mix for the workout.   If you have a special skill or talent you would like to share with Sophia’s Heart contact: volunteer@sophiasheart.org.

Meet Dr. Ila Foster

Sophia’s Heart is excited to have Dr. Ila Foster on board providing chiropractic care for residents and staff. Dr. Foster, who has been practicing for 12 1/2 years, comes every week and volunteers her time to help keep everyone well adjusted.  Dr. Foster says, she loves that SH keeps families together during tough times. “I enjoy working with SH. I love being able to bring a little joy to the families lives while helping them heal.” she says.  Not only is Dr. Foster a terrific chiropractor, she’s also an accomplished chef!  To find out how you can get involved at Sophia’s Heart email: volunteer@sophiasheart.org.

Sophia’s Heart Gives Back
Sophia’s Heart depends heavily on the generous contributions of so many donors and partner agencies; Now it’s time for us to give back. Sophia’s Heart has begun giving Farmer John, a local pig farmer, it’s left overs and scraps. In exchange, Farmer John brings about 4 dozen eggs each week to Sophia’s Heart and as soon as his veggies start producing will be bringing what he can of them.  He also says he will keep Sophia’s Heart in mind during hog season. Thanks Farmer John for making sure we have fresh produce at Sophia’s Heart!

Live-In Volunteers Needed!

Sophia’s Heart is currently in need of Live-In-Volunteers.  We recently had the great fortune to work with a fabulous Live-in-Volunteer all the way from New York! Ms. Ada Sanchez, volunteered extensively with Sophia’s Heart and Compassion International. She is one interesting gal, and passionate for people.  We were blessed to have her on our team and now we are looking for others to join us as we assist families expereincing homelessness.  If you or anyone you know, has the heart to help and the time to give, please email us at: volunteer@sophiasheart.org!

Congratulations to our Graduate!

One of Sophia’s Heart’s residents is making plans to follow a career as a dental hygienist after receiving her GED and graduating with honors recently.  Congratulations Anissa!  We’re proud of the trail you’re blazing!!!!
