Compassion Nashville News
Our first family, in the Compassion Nashville transitional home, graduated from our program in July and has moved into their own home! We would like to thank all of our donors and supporters who believed in our mission and our vision for helping homeless children and families stay together during a time of crisis in their lives.
A letter from Compassion Nashville’s first graduating family:
July 22, 2011
Dear Sophia’s Heart
We are coming to an end of our stay and we just wanted to let you know what a great program this is and what you all have meant to us. You will all be sorely missed as we move on to the next stage in our journey called life.
Sophia’s Heart means a lot to us and there are no real words to describe it. When everyone else wanted to spit our family up Sophia’s Heart gave us a safe, secure place to live. They gave us stability and the ability to save money. Through their help we were able to buy a van and save money for our new home. We were able to keep the children in school so that they would not have to do the year over. They helped us put together a budget and stick to it. We know we will never need help of this nature again. We are grateful and thankful for Sophia’s Heart and the staff that worked with us to get us where we are. Thank you Sophia’s Heart we will never forget what you did for us.
John & Wendy
With over 1,700 homeless children in Nashville, our work is not over, it’s just beginning and we need your support! If you believe in the mission and vision of Sophia’s Heart, please consider making a donation to www.sophiasheart.org to help us prepare Compassion Nashville for more families struggling with being homeless. Your donation will help us to offer more comprehensive services to those children and families in need. Thank you so much for your support!

Sophia Gokey was a compassionate woman who, despite her heart condition, remained full of optimism, energy and selflessness.
